Company History

1987

Business Started

The current Managing Director, Stephen Blackler, founds the company. After 7 years in the South African access control and parking market, Stephen returns to the UK distributing analogue vehicle detectors.

1992

Limited Company

Nortech Control Systems becomes a limited company, and its vehicle detectors acquire digital technology.

1995

Llantarnam Park & Manufacturing

Due to increasing demand, Nortech moves to Llantarnam Business Park in Cwmbran.

The larger premises allow Nortech to expand and start developing their own range of access control solutions. This includes the CRC100 controllers, which are still popular today.

2003

Accreditations

Nortech achieves both the ISO9001:2001 quality certificate and the Investors In People accreditation. Also, the Nortime system is launched into the market.

2006

Re-Organisation

Nortech is re-organised into 2 divisions, Access Control and Parking & Automation. New technologies are introduced including TCP-IP.

2007

New Reader Division

Nortech acquires JTI Limited and takes over the development and manufacture of proximity readers. Nortech enhances the product range and significantly increases their products’ capabilities.

2012

Nortech House – Relocation to Premises

The continued growth of the business requires a move to larger premises.

Close to the old premises, the new self-contained unit is on its own landscaped plot. The building is fitted out to support growth well into the future with a large manufacturing unit and offices for development, support, sales and admin staff. There is also a dedicated training and demonstration room. Also, the site provides ample parking for staff and visitors.

2015

Nortech is Nedap's Certified Partner

Nortech becomes a part of Nedap's official Certified Partner Programme for its Long Range Vehicle Identification products: uPASS Access, uPASS Reach, Transit and ANPR.
